Being a headteacher brings great rewards, but this can be tempered by the pressures of a role which is highly demanding and ever changing. We offer headteachers confidential and personal support which will help to maintain their resilience and positive well-being, which will ultimately improve the effectiveness of their school. We want to help them minimise the stresses of their role, so they can maintain their ability to lead and inspire others. Many headteachers are skilled at looking after the well-being of their staff, but give little thought, or time, to their own.
We provide an independent, flexible service which will meet the needs of individual headteachers. This service is tiered, so schools can select the service that best meets their needs.
Tier 1: Weekly bulletins
Subscribers will receive regular emails during term time containing timely information relevant to headteachers which will keep them up to date with the ever-changing educational landscape as well as information from the DfE, safeguarding updates, Ofsted information etc. Additional emails may be sent if the content is deemed urgent.
Tier 2: Weekly bulletins and email / phone support
Subscribers will receive the email updates, as outlined in tier 1, and the option of contacting a member of the team for support via email or telephone. Where possible we will give Headteachers practical advice in dealing with difficult issues as well as providing a listening ear and honest feedback to help them work through any concerns or issues. We may also sign-post Headteachers to other agencies and networks.
Tier 3: Weekly bulletins, email / phone support and face-to-face visits
Subscribers will receive the support outlined in tiers 1 and 2 as well as the option of termly face-to-face meetings either in school or a suitable alternative location or via video call. These meetings provide a safe, confidential space for Headteachers to share their thoughts, worries or concerns as well as a sounding board to let off steam or bounce ideas around. We will provide support to help Headteachers achieve a healthy work-life balance and our feedback will always be considered and honest.
Governors have a duty of care to ensure their headteacher’s emotional health and well-being is catered for. This service will assist governing bodies in discharging this duty.
