Mailing lists: If you subscribe to our Headteacher Support Service, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, address for your place of work and possibly your work telephone number. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about education related information; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you are happy and satisfied. We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

At times, we may use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our Headteacher Support update or to send you information about the courses we are running. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

First and foremost, we use your personal data to operate our website and provide you with any services you have requested, and to manage our relationship with you. We also use your personal data for other purposes, which may include the following:

  • Providing you with information you have requested from us (like training or education materials) or information we are required to send to you
  • Operational communications, like changes to our website and services

SECURITY

School Support Solutions use several data storage methods which include:

  1. In cloud-based systems such as OneDrive and Google Drive.
  2. Manually in paper records kept in a locked office.
  3. Electronically on laptop computers with encryption and encrypted external hard drives.

Information held on the cloud is securely backed up and your data encrypted to protect your data from cyber-attacks and on-line hackers and manual records are stored in secure locked offices

RETENTION

The length of time we keep your personal data depends on what it is and whether we have an ongoing business need to retain it (for example, to provide you with a service you’ve requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

We will retain your personal data for as long as we have a relationship with you. Following that period, we will make sure it is deleted or anonymised. We will retain any information held in manual files or electronically for 7 years after the end of our relationship unless we are required to retain this information for legal reasons. We will not retain your information for longer than is necessary.

Your personal data is processed by us by our staff in the UK.
